Woke up this morning feeling great (well, maybe great is a slight exageration, but still much better than the last several days. I must say that a certain very sweet someone made the fact that I had to stay in B-ham last night much more enjoyable. Perhaps that is why), so obviously, I hurried about, loaded my car, and came home! And I'm feeling extra proud of myself because I got all my TPN supplies and meds ready to go last night. Thus, I didn't forget any of it this morning (as per my typical routine of say, remembering the TPN, but forgetting to bring the pump). At least that's what I thought... So now I'm home, doing laundry and getting ready to head out to Texas, when I realize that though I so carefully got all my meds for the whole week organized and ready to go last night, I left them sitting on my bedside table in B-ham after I took my morning dose. Yay for driving back to B-ham.
***EDIT***
Oh, and the fun continues. On holiday weeks when I come home, the company that formulates my TPN and other intraveinous meds (read: iron infusions), ships them to my house. They knew I was leaving for Texas, and my shipment was supposed to arrive around noon today. It didn't. The company just called. There was some sort of problem, so it didn't get shipped on time and can't get here till tomorrow afternoon. Ok, I tell them. I'm having to come back to B-ham anyways, you can just bring it to my house there like you always do. Wrong. It's in the computer to send it to the Flo-town address, so there's nothing they can do. If it were just TPN, I'd say forget it and leave without it. However, I had to convince Dr. Olson not to stick me in the hospital yesterday to pump me full of iron (nursing friends, why is he so worried about this?). I had to promise not to skip or be late on any of my iron doses (I haven't been since he started me on them). So I can't leave until the shipment gets here tomorrow because it has Wednesday and Friday's doses. Bah!
