Gingerbread houses!!

Now, I've never claimed my family was of the normal sort, and we've always gone a little overboard when we make gingerbread houses each year. Tonight however, we definitely took our gingerbread house making to the next crazy level. :) Wesley's has a cool roof and a carport (complete with tootsie roll car). Mine's this weird two-story, star-shaped house thing (That does NOT look like a mosque). It's different, but cool. Price wins the prize though. Price made his into a model of the church sanctuary. He has pews, the choir loft, pulpit, even a piano carved out of a gumdrop. He made the latticed window on the front with pretzels. It's even got a removable narthex so you can look inside and see all his handy work. It's crazy-amazing. (Now, he didn't start out to re-create the church. He was making an A-frame house and someone commented that it looked like the church and things just kinda got out of hand from there). Austin was upset that his wasn't as good as the rest of ours (nevermind that we're twice his age and that even at 11, his house still has a courtyard.). Price's response: "Austin, don't worry. We (me, Price, and Wesley) are being ridiculous. No one in their right mind does this." We worked 5 1/2 hours before we finally got burnt-out, so we'll have to finish the big house tomorrow.

silliness, christmas, family
