Sorry for the long absence. I am now on TPN. Sent several days in the hospital having a Hickman catheter put in my chest and recovering to reasonably safe nutritional status. Tons and tons of thanks to all my Georgia people who called me the whole time. You guys are the most wonderful and bestest friends on the planet and I thank God that I found you all. Even from far away you guys can defeat loneliness. It's amazing: I have energy now, don't feel so sick (as long as I don't eat), don't look like a skeleton. I haven't felt good like this in nearly 2 years. My mommy fixed up a backpack for me to carry it around in. It's just about the girliest thing I've ever owned: it has crocheted straps to hold the TPN bag, and little pink bows to tie everything up. I like it. She worked hard on it, and it makes me feel special.
So, I'm actually finally all moved to Birmingham and classes started today. I really think I'm going to like all of them a lot. The Latin here is going to be very easy compared to UGA. I've already had more poetry than most of the other students and was the only one in class who'd written a research paper for Latin and used the L'Annee philologiue before. The other classics students seem like fun though. I'm excited about getting to know them all. Greek is going to be a lot of work, but I think I'm going to like it. Overall, I like the school. I really like my profs I just hope I make friends quickly or loneliness is going to devour me. Ok, I need to go finish memorizing the Greek alphabet, plug myself in for re-fueling, and then I'm going to read to try to read as much Brothers Karamazov as I can before classes get crazy and I don't have any more time for pleasure reading.
