so here's whats new with tha 'rae. chicago is amazing. i love it here, the people are awesome, my crew is awsome, my partner is awesome...God is so good. Satan has been attacking my partner (Katie) and I since the moment our plane landed, but it's slowly gotten better. A lot of friends and family have been praying for us and i thank you will all of my heart! YOur support is so amazing and appreciated!
on a lighter note: im on weight watchters.. and im hungry.
haha katie brought all her WW stuff to do this summer so we bought lots of soy milk and kashi (good stuff anyways) and we cook EVERYTHING. fresh this. fresh that... im really proud, even if i never lose weight, im eating really healthy and it makes me feel amazing, a lot more energetic. We also walk EVERYWHERE...'cept chinatown. we ride the "l" bc its way south... but other than that we walk anywhere from 1/2 a mile to a mile every day (depending on how busy our days are). We are working at the church 60 hours a week. Its a lot, but whatever. We are preping to have out 1st high school mission team come through here from june 5-9, we have 7 total groups this summer that we'll be in charge of and one world changers...so we're kinda weary about all those kids, one group is bringing 26! and staying at the church (with one shower!) so that'll be FUN!
if anyone reads this, please pray for the people that katie and i have already started to build relationships with. UNEXPECTEDLY we have already met and made friends with several chicagoans. A lot of people our age want to hang out and cook dinner and stuff. one guy, mike, we've already had him over to the church for dinner and a movie...
These ppl are ppl that we met on the streets, hanging out or working for the church and they either had questions about their weak or new faith or they are seeking a relationship but due to post-moderenism cant grasp child-like concepts. Lots to Do. Lots of Discipling. Lots of being discipled. Please pray for my sensitivity to the Holy Spirit. (*quick prayer for me: Lord, my Father, my Perfect King. I come to you by your Son Jesus, Lord i ask that you may awaken and revive my senses to become one with you Lord. For my heart to be sensitive, for my ears to be alert for you, for my mind to attain and recall all that you are pouring out Abba. Lord thank you for Your Perfect Lamb, my Risen Savior Jesus Christ. Thank you dad for becoming flesh, and bearing my sins for me on the blood-soaked wood, we call the cross. I love you dad. Because you died for me first, i give you my life, in Your Son's Perfect Name. Amen)
