SERAFINA PEKKALA I LOVE YOU SO GODDAMN MUCH!!!!!!!!
MRS. COULTER I LOVE YOU TOO, NO MATTER HOW EVIL YOU APPEAR TO BE!!!!!

*takes a deep breath*

I saw the Golden Compass - and I loved it. Could you tell? I just don't like how some of the things were out of order or screwed up, but those were done rather well on the whole. The girl cast as Lyra was absolutely perfect, loved her just as much in the movie as I did in the book. Iorek was also well done (Ian McKellan, squee), and Lee, but not so much with Lord Asriel. He wasn't near unlikeable enough. Mrs. Coulter, though... Nicole Kidman played her so wonderfully! I still hate that damn little golden monkey, but I've always loved Mrs. Coulter. Come on, all of us have those bits of evil, and you know it. Then Serafina Pekkala... she may not have been there all that much, but she was there for me enough to remember how much I adore her, and that's more than Mrs. Coulter. They did not, however, give us Kaisa and that was a bit displeasing. No Sophonax either. :( And renaming Iofur??? WTF is up with that? Do they really think we're that stupid?

On the mark of religion in the movie - it was definitely evident that the Magisterium (I probably spelled that wrong) was representing the Catholic Church... and that Dust was sin, etc. etc. Still liked it. And based on that like, there might be a decent bit more His Dark Materials icons on my journal.

Also went out to dinner with Lee beforehand. Nice times.

made of win, movie, w00t!, religion, good times, relationships, books
