you either lived on a farm or wished you did

so some of you heard the story about the abused donkey that ran from the neighbors and now lives here? well the guy has a pig now. and there is a hole in the fence. and said pig keeps getting into the hay field.

so i'm riding jody through the hay field (oh yeah. i think you know where this is going). we trotted the full loop, even up the long hill that we usually gallop up. and when i went by where the pig is i was really cautious and concerned, bc she had not seen it yet. but it wasn't there so we went on our way. at the top, i decided to walk back down the hill and trot back the other way. when we were about 50 ft away, the big goes trotting through the fence and into the field and starts eating. jody had been trotting, ears pricked like a happy horse. she stops, starts snorting. i try to push her forward. she's trembling, snorting and then flies sideways into the field..where we are not allowed to be. but whatever, i figure if you want to walk by the pig far away from it, we'll do it and just not tell chuck we rode in the hay field. she spins and tries to gallop away from the pig instead. (it's a pony eating pig!) i wouldn't let her. so she rears, bucks, jumps in the air and tries to run away. i yank at her and yell "hey, remember me!" so she starts trotting away frantically. i made her do that until about halfway up the hill when i said okay whatever, run. she took off. i grabbed mane. i swear we beat our time from last week. (ruuuuunnnnn pppiiiiggg!!!!) as i walked her out, she was pretty sure everything beside the mowed trail was a pig. my goals quickly went from make her walk by the pig, to don't run from the pig, to don't fall off.  can't wait to try to take her out there next time.
