Coloring Tutorials

These are all made w/ Adobe Photoshop, and it's unknown if they will translate. They all use selective coloring and color balance.

1. Copy base and set to SCREEN @ 20% opacity
Optional Step - copy base and erase hand and pencil and set to screen @ 100% opacity (done so hand wouldn't be so bright, this step isn't required to get a good color).
2. Make a new COLOR FILL layer using 410101 and set to Exclusion @ 40 %
3. Make a new COLOR BALANCE layer w/ the following settings:
Midtones @ -20, -10, -10
Shadows @ -10, -20, -10
Highlights @ +10, +5, +10
preserve luminosity CHECKED
4. Make a new SELECTIVE COLOR layer w/ the following settings:
Reds: +100, 0, +100, 0
Yellows: -100, +100, -100, -50
Blues: +100, -100, -100, +100
Magentas: should ALL be +100
Whites: should ALL be -10
Neutrals: +10, -5, +10, -5
Blacks: +100, +100, +100, 0
Method: Relative
5. Merge all layers and you're DONE! :]

3. Make a SELECTIVE COLOR layer w/ the following settings:
Reds: +100, +100, +100, 0
Yellows: -100, +100, +100, 0
Cyans: +100, +100, +100, 0
Whites: -20, +10, -20, -5
Neutrals: +5, -5, -5, -5
Blacks: +100, +100, +100, 0
Method: Relative
4. Make a COLOR BALANCE layer w/ the following settings:
Midtones: -5, -5,+5
Shadows: +5, +5, +10
Highlights: -5, -5, -10
Preserve Luminosity CHECKED
5. Merge all layers and you're DONE

Whites: +10, -5, -20, 0

Blacks: -10, +100, -20, 0
Method: Relative
4. Make a COLOR BALANCE layer w/ the following settings:
Midtones: +10, +10, -10
Shadows: +10, -5, -10
Highlights: -10, -10, +5
Preserve Luminosity CHECKED
5. Merge all layers and you're DONE!
