Das Neue Haus

It seems very random to be posting anything here these days. Everybody is on Facebook now. I need to do a braindump, though, and FB has posting limits.

We're buying a new house and it feels almost as if it's all happened by accident; I think this is largely because it all went so fast. However, we're supposed to close on it next month, and I'm getting more excited now that it's sunk in that it's apparently really happening.

I could go on about it, but I have pictures so I guess I'll just post some. (Keep in mind that I don't do taupe - all the walls are in for a serious splash of color once we get in there.)

Das Haus - the front yard is not as big as it looks; it's a cul-de-sac lot so the front end is teeny and the back is big. The house is set on the edge of the greenbelt, which you can sorta see around the side:

Das Haus, Interior - this is looking from the entryway through the kitchen, you can see a bit of the living room on the right:

Das View, off the upper deck:

So we're prepping to move and put our house on the market, which involves getting the exterior of the house painted, refinishing the countertops, installing a tile backsplash and new bathroom floors, (re)painting at least one and possibly as many as six rooms, having a window installed, and buying a new stove, among other, more minor, repairs and updates. Some of those things have already happened, some are in process and some are pending, and frankly I hardly know which is which anymore.

I also have a dentist's appointment tomorrow, and I'm behind on work. I forgot that school was closed on Columbus Day, so I spent all day herding the three-year-old terror around all the home improvement projects. It's amazing how many pointy and toxic things are lying around right now.

Oh, and I'm supposed to be working on a sketchbook for the Sketchbook Project. Laughable, really. Fortunately, my theme is "Help!" - which is about as coherent as my thoughts get these days.
