Gone are the days of summer breaks

May 27, 2013 16:48

Though I did have a lovely week off. I choose to call it lovely, though nothing particularly summery happened in that time off. It was, however, the only time I got to sleep in past 8 and putz around the house with no homework.

Tomorrow starts a frenzied summer of online classes, which may just be more work-intensive than my full semester courses. Wednesday I start a full-time, unpaid (college credit in lieu of money) internship at the State Comptroller's office. With luck, I'll get my preferred track of Project Management, which shall be very interesting. I'll be fine with the HR track as well. Just so long as I don't get auditing *shudder*

So it'll be out of the house by 7ish, back by 5 with a course or two to tackle and sundry household things to attend to. Oh lordy!

This effectively means we also can't go to my cousin's wedding. BUGGER! More so for the fact that there goes another potential family vacation, and that we'd have met with some family that we've never met. Priorities, hey ho!

This also means I won't be able to go to my favorite teacher's retirement party. Though, had we not gotten the internship (we = my sister and I) we'd have gone to the wedding which means I wouldn't have made it to the party anyway. With daily work and no days off, looks like I won't get to see her at all. Just my luck.

Right, off to do my ice breaker activity for the first course (how is a 5-7 page paper an ice breaker activity?).

job, school
