Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year to all my friends and their families. I wish you all, all the very best in 2010. May it be a year of prosperity, good health and success!

I can't believe we've already lived through a decade of the 2K series. I hope the next 10 years sees a drastic improvement in the American economy, Indian infrastructure, and personal development!

I'm not one for resolutions since I tend to break them. However, I will take the opportunity that Jan 1st gives us, to mark a few goals I would like to achieve within this year and this decade:

1. Lose weight - I can see the potential within myself, and I like the silhouette my body makes when I suck in my tummy hehe. I'd like to shed the excess layers and pounds, finally, and look the best I can. It'll be a boost to both my self-image/ego and my health, both of which would appreciate it very much!

2. Become a doctor! - 2.75 years more of education before I graduate from Medical School. I intend to work harder than ever so I can place well in clinicals and eventually my Residency. It's kind of scary to realize that I will finally finish formal education and truly step into the adult world within this decade.

3. Get married - This one scares the heck out of me! On the one hand, I really do want to get married already! It'd be nice to have a life partner and the stability (ha!) that comes with married life. On the other hand, I'm still Daddy's little girl and not ready to take that step away from my parents. Really, ideally, I want to be married in the next 6 years. So, Mr. Right...you better show up soon!

4. Win the Lotto - No, seriously. Life demands so many upgrades and installment-payments, it's getting really hard to get by. I'm not going to start earning nearly enough to help support my parents anytime soon. Our best bet is to hope statistics favour us enough that we hit a small lotto. I'm not keen on winning hundreds of millions. Personally, I would be satisfied with ... oh, say... $6 million (after tax, blah blah). Too much to ask for Santa? God? Anybody?

I've got 1+ weeks of vacation time left and I intend to enjoy it to the fullest!!!! Enjoy and celebrate! Drive safe!!!!

ps - forgot how bloody cold winter could be at home!!!!

goals, vacation, health, marriage, new year
