Of 100words and Meteor Showers

Aug 11, 2009 22:10

So I've already lapsed in my self-ascribed frequent updating. However, I'll excuse myself since we've had back-to-back exams, and next week marks the start of finals :(

I've written two pieces in the last 2 weeks and will post the shorter one as I am still fine-tuning the other piece.

A hand crept up, rubbing the sore spot on the base of his neck. The lab table was too low, forcing him to bend over the cauldron at an awkward angle. Severus pushed away from the simmering pot, turning instead to the stack of parchment that he had been trying to ignore all week. Putting off Hermione was never a good idea. A negligent swish and jab ensured that the cauldron would continue to simmer at the same temperature for another 420 and ¾ minutes, till the potion brewed down to a jiggling blob, slightly thicker than the book instructed.

My ficlets aren't stand-alone pieces. Instead, I'm doing most of my writing keeping a plot-bunny in mind. I hope to eventually develop it into a full story to be posted on Ashwinder. But I still feel very raw when writing, so I'll post on LJ until I gain some more confidence.

Not much, in terms of fresh news. The count-down to going home is at 13 days and 16 hours :) The scary part is that there are 4 exams in that duration *sigh*

Minor side-note...I'll be starting up a sub-blog at blogger soon. This one will focus on cooking - drop by for recipes and pics ;)

I'm looking forward to the meteor shower forecasted for tonight - 1am local time wherever you are. Check it out!

Back to studying!
