I'd started a post 3 days back, but was interrupted and never got back to it. So much for updating every 1-2 days.
I haven't had the chance to start my 100-word challenge either. Actually, most of my online activities have come to a standpoint as I've been preparing for a marathon session of exams. It doesn't matter that each of the 3 are spaced out over 3 weeks, as the material in all the classes are dense and the profs insist on teaching relevant material up to the last day. Seeing as I'm at the 55-day mark (exactly 8 weeks to being home!) I'm starting to panic a little about the cumulative exams we will have in each of the 3 subject.... all bad things do happen in threes :\ Fortunately, the school has been wise enough to give us the last two weeks to study on our own. I don't think I could have handled the pressure of classes up to the last day. The first of these miserable 3 (not the finals) is tomorrow, so wish me luck! :)
It's a small world after all (sorry, now you have it stuck in your head too) has become my theme song lately. First it was meeting someone from my US hometown - a rare occurrence, since the majority of students here are either from Canada, or NYC/NJ and a small handful from various southern states. I then met someone from my Indian hometown, which is an even rarer event since ... well, it just is. A week back I also met someone who I would have known from my virtual life. I have considered meeting a select few people from my virtual life in RL, but have never accidentally come across a person from the net-world. And so, the insipid tune starts playing in my head any time I think of all these run ins.
I need my best friend around for some solid advise, but it's also something I'd rather talk to her about in person. It makes me even more anxious for the next break.
I'm sorely tempted to give myself a bit of a break from the studying and attempt my first go at the self-imposed challenge. We'll see. My search for inspiration on Ashwinder just turned into a reading-fest as I hopped from one excellent story to the next. :) I'm amazed at the number of talented writers out there, and I hope their skills are acknowledged by the world at large as well, instead of just this small little faction of HG/SS-obsessed humanity.
Speaking of Harry Potter... why were there no headlines making the world aware that HP6 is actually releasing on July 15th, not 17th!? How terribly exciting to get this gift a whole 2 days earlier! Unfortunately for me, the theater on this island won't be screening the movie till the 23rd. It makes me very sad! But since that means it screens on a non-test day/week, I will make sure to go at the first available opportunity :D
Now to dine and decide...
