The day after...
My entire body is sore, especially my thighs and my back. My arms are shaking. I have dark circles under my eyes from weeks worth of late nights. I am tired, exhausted, burnt out.
I look at the mess in my rrom and feel like giving up (but can't since Cait's bringing back some stuff and I need to clear up the space for it). I am hungry. I haven't been eating much lately. All I want to do is sink back into my bed and sleep for the next week or so. (But there is so much work - school work now - that I need to do!)
But this is all worth last night. We did so well! Only a couple of big messups. One on Bincy's part - the circle - and one on mine - the stupid frog hop. But it was definitely an amazing experience. Poor Elsa. Her pants ripped upto midthigh level right at the end. I don't think anyone noticed.
The entire night was great. I don't think the gorus understood Hasan's rendition of "Ruk Ja Oh Dil Diwani," but then, it was a very brown thing, so that's understandable. Actually, I don't know how much any non-Asian could really understand and enjoy, but it was all great for us.
The Bhangra...Oh. My. Freaking. God! They were so great. They put so much energy into it. All those late night practices really paid off. A couple of mistakes here and there, but we all made mistakes, so it's okay. Leslie and Elsa were especially great - what with all the drama that went on before hand. Leslie looked amazing too! Poor Hershal. That was his highest flip, and he ended up on his head. To his credit, he bounced right back up and ran over to his spot, picking up where and when needed. The last pose (standing on Sunil's shoulders) was also a little wobbly, but everyone made it through that. It was really great!
Mahi (Mahe?) and Fahima were amazing!!! They were so beautiful and just great. Again, very few people would have actually understood and enjoyed it. But I know everyone appreciated the skills the two displayed. Bincy practically had tears in her eyes. Rhimjhim got super excited and I was just amazed! Fahima and I definitely got to be friends. I'm sure the same can be said for Mahi and I, it's just that she had to go catch up with some other friends, so we didn't have quite as much time to chat. It was really cool though. I will upload pics from last night and add them as a link to this entry in some time.
The boys... *grin*... amazing!!! The crowd went totally wild. They were fantastic. That's just about all I can say about them. I really don't know what else to say. So much energy and just so well done.
