Log Nine

It's funny, I hadn't noticed how few young children were here until they were everywhere.  Now this place seems just a little quieter.  And I should apologize to any teenagers that I was exasperated around.  It's surprisingly hard to be that age.  Less inconvenient than being tiny, sure, but difficult.  I'll miss having all that energy, though.

It's ( Read more... )

'Normal' is relative--more so in Edensphere than many other places, I would wager.

I certainly hope that whoever 'wins' me is not expecting an elaborate 'date'.

[Seriously, in canon he has about half a page where he thinks about normality.]

Yes. "Normal" is about as subjective as subjective gets. I talked to Dyad, and he seemed very surprised when I told him that I'm not from Earth, so he probably wouldn't find my "normal" to be anything like his. Not that I know what mine or his is.

I'm sure they don't. I'm sure they just want to spend a little time with you.

Lol! For a second there I was like 'Since when have we had a Cap'n America? o_0' burntorangesky February 10 2010, 01:33:44 UTC
[A pause.]

I should talk to Dyad myself one of these days I suppose each person's 'normal' is the things about Edensphere each of us find familiar. Since we have no other way of knowing, for the nonce.

[Pen taps]

I suppose there is something to be said for either making a new friend or spending time with someone you already know.

The derp is strong with me today. Cap would be interesting, though. desig_survivor February 10 2010, 01:44:15 UTC
He seems very quiet, but I like him. I suppose. Not that I've found anything strikingly familiar.

And the money is going to a good cause. Or what I have to assume is a good cause. Do you suppose they meant "spring" as in the season, or as in a hot spring?

"Use the derp, Luke!" Star Wars would have been so different burntorangesky February 10 2010, 02:30:36 UTC
Except for flying, perhaps?

That is what the people doing this say--from the looks of the handwriting it is Bridge and Locket--and I am not entirely sure. We do have one of those, on Wellspring Island [pause] the way it has been written it is unclear. I had been assuming the season, though.

It would. "Look at the size of that derp!" desig_survivor February 10 2010, 02:40:05 UTC
Animal flight doesn't feel anything like ship flight - actually, the constant movement and the sense of moving air are a bit offputting - but I suppose so. A lot of physics are involved in flying, anyway, and when I fly some of that comes back.

When is spring, anyway? I'm told there are twelve months and four seasons here, and I know this is winter.

...I can't think of any more witty quotes, lol. burntorangesky February 10 2010, 02:51:12 UTC
This place seems to be more-or-less similar to Earth's year and seasons, so barring any Edensphere strangeness, spring should occur any time from mid March to early April. Since this is January, that makes it three to three and a half months, roughly. Four months at the outside.

Aww. :P What am I going to do with this "I find your lack of derp disturbing"? desig_survivor February 10 2010, 02:57:00 UTC
All right. So far it hasn't been terribly cold, at least. Just chill enough to get annoying.

Oh fine, um... "It's a derp!"? burntorangesky February 10 2010, 03:13:36 UTC
At least the current Wilderness is both warm and relatively safe, if you grow too annoyed by the cold.

There's that. And it's not like people aren't selling warmer clothes. I'll go looking for thicker gloves tomorrow.
