[[He has never put pen to paper before. He's used a stylus on a datapad, but a pen needs a much firmer grip and has to press harder and more consistently, and he hadn't realized at first that the pen nib could be clicked out of the body, so there are some indents on the previous page where he'd started before realizing that someone who knew how to

I have not heard of anyone who has chosen those names, unfortunately.

How long is a day here?
Thanks. It's worth a try.

Twenty-four standard hours. A year is twelve months and 365 days, although the number of days in each varies between thirty and thirty-one.

And an hour is sixty minutes, a minute is sixty seconds, and a second is this long? [two dots one, made approximately a second after the other]
Sounds like there are more thirty-day months than thirty-one. [yes, he added them up.]
Thank you. [pause] Gravity... I don't know if it's standard or not, but it doesn't strike me as particularly weak or strong, and the air doesn't seem unusual either. I guess I was hoping that learning some specifications about this place would make me remember if I knew where this was.

Correct. There is also one month that has twenty-eight days; I believe it is called February.
Yes--unfortunately, I cannot tell you the name of this planet, only that this part of it is called Edensphere. Are you familiar with interstellar travel, then? Those drawings look as though they might be starfighters.

[...sudden bad feeling about this] What kind of unusual events?
They are. I don't remember what they are called or if they're hyperspace capable, but they're starfighters. Good ones. I'm just poor at drawing them.

As for the events, there are many varieties. Once there were desks charging people down like animals. A week ago, many people were followed by mannequin-like droids which sang about whatever we were doing at the time.
I see. I ask because there are few people here who seem familiar with such things.

Sithspawn. Are these some kind of practical joke? That sounds like... [his ellipses are basically bumpy lines, not dot-dot-dot] well, it sounds like the kind of thing someone I think I knew would set up.
Right. Who would those be? [it's starting to sink in that he's literally grounded. There will be very little flying in the foreseeable future, and that's cause for serious dismay.]

Sithspawn? [pause for ping-o.] That is an unusual phrase.
I am one. There are others, I believe, but I do not know who specifically.

Why's that?

I am Echani, 1.75m, with white hair and clothing.
