sleepless in my messy apartment

I've been having a terrible time getting my sleep schedule sorted out. I was exhausted when I got home from dinner tonight (around 8:30), so I figured I'd just set the alarm for 6AM (the time I'll have to get up for school) and get a few extra hours of sleep. But then I had a nightmare about zombies (or rather, 28 Days Later style infected), and woke up shortly after midnight. I wasn't able to get back to sleep. I would complain about the dream, but it was a nice change of pace from the awful "I suck at school and everyone makes fun of me" dreams I've been having lately.

I know that at least for the first few days, getting up on time won't be difficult. It never is when I'm excited about something. But once the novelty wears off, I need to be in the habit of going to bed at a reasonable hour, and getting up on time. I hope I can manage it.

Regarding my last post (about the backpacks), I got the chance to see a few different Swissgear bags in person. The Synergy definitely seems to be the way to go. It feels comfortable, has enough pockets and weight distribution to help make carrying things easier, and it's pretty inexpensive if I buy it online (the one I saw at Best Buy was $90). Target and a few other retailers have Swissgear bags as well, but I didn't feel that the ones they had were worth the money, even though they were a lot less. Even Joe agreed, and he's kind of a cheapass.

In the meantime, I'm going to use a leftover laptop bag that he got from work. As long as I don't have to carry all of my books in it at once I should be fine. I still don't have any notebooks, or colored pens, but I'll pop into the bookstore tomorrow morning before class and remedy that. I was going to go to Staples and pick up the particular brand that I like, but money is very sparse this week. I have enough to get me to and from school and that's about it.

school, sleep, money
