Oh. My. God. Go see BNL. NOW!!!! That was the best concert I've ever been to and I am grinning from ear to ear. ~*Squeal*~ They played their entire new album which I definetly must go and purchase now. They also played a ton of their old stuff. Brain Wilson (I was so excited when they did), Alcohol, The Old Apartment, a kick-ass acoustic version of One Week, Pinch Me, and a TON of other stuff. They came out for two encores. It was SOOOO good. It was also cool because they did a question and answer period where they had microphones floating around and people asked questions. They ended up playing limbo on stage with a guitar and their drummer ended up with out pants...there was also a mildly disturbed bat flying around the theatre, but it was cool.
But the coolest part of the whole show was when they started talking about this one song about a bridge in Toronto that a lot of people committed suicide off of until they caged it in. They started talking about how pointless suicide is. And then they dedicated the song to Elliott Smith and said how sad they were that he took his own life and how much they respected him and his music. It was awesome. One of the best songs of the whole show. And in between sets they played Elliott's music. It made me respect them a lot, it was such a classy gesture and I was just really impressed. They were just so amazing, insanely better live than on CD. So if you ever get the chance, go see them, don't even think, just go. So now I have to study chemistry. But it's okay, because BNL kicks ass and so does Elliott Smith. YAY!
