I have to admit, I was scared silly on Monday when I was starting the Pharmacy for the very first time. I do that with new things. I was worried I'd be a total failure at the job, that I'd have a hard time getting along with the team back there, that I'd screw up something HUGE and end up getting fired or worse. And as usual, all that was proven wrong almost immediately. The cashier who ended up teaching me was actually pretty thrilled she was getting help, and absolutely everyone back there was very helpful with any questions or problems I had. Ashley said it'll be about a month before I really learn everything, but the basics I think I've got down, pretty much. Everyone there seems to really like me and one of the techs told me I have to give her a paper with my full name, birth date, favorite color, and hobbies written on it so they'll know what to do for my birthday.  . . . my BIRTHDAY? How awesome is that? It's like a whole little family back there. There are three pharmacists, I think five techs, and three cashiers, including me. I never come in before 9 and I'll never work past 9, and since there are three of us now, they're hoping we all get at least two weekends off a month, since they only schedule one cashier for weekend, for some reason. So as long as we don't have the drama that the poor folks in the produce department have (I swear, someone is always mad at someone else back there!), it'll all be great. Of course the customers are a good bit nastier than they are up front and can be really crazy when their stuff isn't ready when they wanted it to be, but I can deal with it.

Y' know, sometimes I can be really oblivious. Ken has asked me at least twice what I'm doing/dressing as on Halloween. He also keeps bemoaning the fact his kids are too old to take trick or treating anymore and he's just not sure what he's gonna do that day. Apparently it's one of his favorite holidays. He mentioned being invited to a few parties but wasn't sure if he wanted to go to any of them or not. Today he asked me if I knew what I was working on the 31st. DER, Grace, think he might be trying to tell you something? And I only realized that a while after I got home tonight. He mentioned it around noon, too. I had to stop and bug him before I started, and he was taking pumpkins out of a huge box on a pallet and putting them into a huge box on the floor. When the box was getting empty, he was getting to the point he had to lean way over and nearly inside it to get the pumpkins out; I was waiting for him to fall in and I kind of really wanted to push him. C'mon, it would have been funny XD We probably would have had to cut the box up to get him back out. I'll bug him tomorrow and see if he mentions Halloween again. I don't know if I'm working that day, probably not since Ash says she's working this weekend, but even if I am, I know I'll be off by 7 because the Pharmacy closes at 7 on weekends, woohoo! I also dropped Penny a note on FB letting her know I got the job; she was really insistent that I put my name in for it so I could get off the front end ASAP.

All in all, I'm really enjoying the new job, it gives me SO much more liberty than cashiering. And I still get to see all my friends in other departments. Have to say I think the CSMs (customer service managers) are giving me a cold shoulder though, bah. They seem a little ticked that they lost one of their best cashiers (their words, not mine, but I agree, ha). Like geez, really? If I was so great the manager over that area could have given me better hours. Anyways, I'm getting sleepy, so I'll end this now. Nighty night friends!
