Surprises!
Remember when I told you guys that I submitted an essay that my English teacher made us send? (It was on the day I wrote 10 things I was content with) Yea well the lady in the Albuquerque Journal called me to tell me that I won 1st place!!! Apparently she had been trying to call me all day, and wrote me an email, but I never checked my mail. She made it through the line and I was so shocked! It's crazy man! Tommorrow they're having the photographer come by to take my picture so it'll be next to my entry when it's published in the paper, and my essay gets put into Wednesday's paper. I get like $100. Crazy! This is all so weird, I never win anything, and while I hoped I would win, I didn't think I would. It's like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory's hope to find the golden ticket, when there wasn't a real chance because of the odds, yet he still hoped and he won. Well I wasn't as devoted to the cause as Charlie, but the same concept. I can't believe I got it. Weird.
