...oh man, crazy night

Diwali Festival was tonight, so I went with a bunch of friends, and it was exciting to get dressed up in Indian clothes after a long time. Lots of good food and dance performances (the one they all staged a coup for sucked. Am I awful for being glad about that?). Funny story of the night: I got all my friends to buy dandiyas, and taught them all how to raas during the live music session--raas is that dance you see people doing with the pair of drum-stick-type things. So I was teaching all my friends and also a bunch of random people who joined in, and then this kind-of-old guy comes up and gets involved, so I give him a pair and teach him too. We all got really into it (I lost my voice giving directions) and a bunch of people (newspaper, gazette etc.) start taking pictures, but I wasn't sure why. After the whole thing ended and the guy shook my hand and left, one of my friends came up to me and was like "Do you know who that was? That was the President of the University!" Hahaha I ended up teaching President Brody how to dance, lol.

Then clubbing with suitemates and a few friends on Market Street by the Harbor. Club Iguana is really hot, although there were a whole bunch of sketchy guys everywhere--good thing we brought a few guy-friends along to use as shields. Ended up dancing with this one guy for a really long time. He was a cute freshman named Adam, from New Jersey, and a reallly good dancer, as in, he could keep up with me (even with crazy hip-hop steps Seethal!)~unfortunately, that's not enough to get my real name or number. Whenever I go clubbing, I'm Jenny, with a phone number that has a Bronx area code. Lots of fun with crazy suitemates though...

Definitely skipping aarthi tomorrow, way too tired. Luckily, exams start in two weeks, so I have less work until next weekend :)
