It's always fun to see lunch group friends, and tonight was no different. And thanks to the girls for rescuing me and my car from the scary driveway with wonderful human-road-barrier technique! Plenty of wacky moments :)
Happy New Year! Celebrating the New Year in Times Square was fun, but I can't believe how much shopping I did in NYC. I'm never going shopping again (well, not really. But I am seriously not going to spend money again for the next year and a half...) Only a few days until Intersession, which will be awesome. Interesting classes, no stress, school credit...and at least one or two crazy adventures (like to the NYSE, as part of Economics of Gender seminar).
And I got accepted as a Backman-Pool Research Scholar!! I'm so excited for this summer -- going on rounds with residents, working in a clinic with patients, scrubbing in for surgeries and a national convention on health administration. :) :)
I hate romantic comedies. If I get dragged to see something resembling The Notebook or The Family Stone one more time, I swear I'm going to start making my own movies instead. With realistic, non-mushy, Hamlet-like endings. And btw--I may keep my cell phone with me whenever I'm not home, but I check my messages like once a week, if I remember. So if you leave me a cell phone message and I don't call you back, it's not because I don't know how to work my cell phone (at least, not anymore), it's because I'm too lazy to listen to my voicemail. Whoops.
