tbr I've never been interested in jr groups. ever. I understand how great it is to see someone go from relative obscurity to the top of the back but there's enough debuted acts to take up too much of my time. however, I definitely can see a massive decrease in Jr. quality if i compare the jrs now to the ultimate jrs circa 1997-2001. I have no qualms about picking the best from each subgroup but again, you can't have a lasting group if they're at each other's throats all the time and I really don't think the new crop of jrs has what it takes to fake it until they make it.
I've been pondering about 'the future of JE' and it looks bleak. Unless they majorly change their methods they're going to get left in the dust.
It makes me wonder what would have happened if JE just put the best of kt/n into one group? Like a ryo, uchi, tegoshi, pi, kame, jin and koki as the obligatory rapper? I have a feeling that group might have lasted, but i really think JE would have made the most money if they tried doing a trio again with pi kama and jin. I mean, it'd be the combination of the most odious people in je ever but it would sell cds like no one's business.
Why don't they do trios anymore? Personally I love trios.
Yeah it's not that I'm interested in the juniors directly but i'm more concerned for the future of JE. Especially with the rumored debut in April, since it used to be 3-4 years between debuts minimum. I didn't really stress it enough in my big long post but none of the groups are ready to go out into the non-JE world yet, even the omnibus group. They are just the best choice right now if it had to happen. And you're absolutely right anyway, it's impossible nowadays to make a group without bad blood.
The thing with kt is that they were handpicked by Koichi to be a unit and their popularity just kind of fell into their lap. Of course JE ran with it when they could have stopped it but it all just kind of happened for them, and Pi was "loyal" to the 4tops at the time KAT-TUN was around so idk. I think that Jin, Kame and Pi as a trio became a possibility too late for JE to do anything about it. Also what sucks about the new groups is that they all have like 9 members in them except the best-of group and I'm pretty sure ABC which both have four. I think anything less than four is just not gonna happen anytime soon because of the "success" of News and Kattun who have right now 6 members each. I kind of want a solo artist but blah that'll never happen and there's not really one outstanding junior right now anyway. IMHO there isn't even three.
