I can't stop realizing how happy I am with my senior option.

"Dear Caroline and Sandra
This is simply to say a very big thank you from all of us here in Rwanda, both from GFL and African Rights, and of course from the women themselves. It is really impossible to convey just how much their lives, and that of their children, have changed since they have been on the programme... From lethargy, despair and depression, they now see that they have reason to believe in a future, giving them energy and a much more a positive attitude... just knowing that we care is the most important contribution that all of us can make. And that is what you are all doing. Showing that you care. And of course it has even more impact on them, and on the people of Rwanda, when that gesture comes from people like yourselves who live so far away."
From Rakiya, the head of African Rights in Rwanda

And yesterday we meditated and learned about Buddhism.

In any case:

Join Montclair High School students in the

Montclair Tip-to-Tip Walk and Rally for Rwanda

We will be walking to commemorate the 1994 Rwandan genocide.  Not only were over 1,000,000 people systematically killed, but additionally 250,000 women were raped and many left to live with AIDS. The money we raise during this walk will go towards supporting these women through the Kigali-based organization Gift for Life, Rwanda.

When: Sunday, June 11, 2006

Registration - 11:30am

Walk - 12:00 noon

Rally - 3:00pm

Where: Registration and walk begin at the Montclair Heights Train Station on Normal Ave. by Montclair State University.  The walk will end with a rally at Nishuane Park on Cedar Ave. near Nishuane School.

¶ Rwandan genocide survivors will be participating in the walk. ¶

If you can’t walk, come hear the woman survivor who will be speaking at the rally!

In the spirit of community, we are asking that participants raise $108, or as much as they can, to help support this cause. We encourage participants to ask family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers to sponsor them. Any donation is greatly appreciated!

For registration forms and details e-mail, Caroline and Sandra,

the High School walk coordinators at montclairgiftforlife@yahoo.com

Checks should be made payable to UMCOR#982345 (the United Methodist Committee on Relief is the fiscal sponsor) and mailed to:
