Only the shallow know themselves fully

Classes are going decently enough; I'm gradually pulling myself into a school state of mind. I started to do some reading on Egypt and Cairo and I'm totally fucking excited for spring break. In other news, my ipod died. But its ok, because apple replaced it. Except that that one died as well. I deduced that it was the transmitter thingy that I was using to play the ipod in the car, but no matter, I no long own that. Which leads me to my next point; my car was broken into last night. Again. In the art theater/apres diem parking lot. I mean, what the fuck? Of all places, I would have never expected it there. I've been there a million times with no incident. They jimmied open the back door and stole the bum ipod transmitter thingy (jokes on them) and my stereo. So yeah, I was pissed. I'm so sick of everything that pertains to my car. Since I got back from vacation I've put close to 300 dollars in it inbetween repairs and replacing radios. I have decided, for serious this time, that I'm getting rid of the bastard. The idea is to have a new car by my birthday. I'm hoping that I can get about 1600 for the civic (no laughing). I hope to be rid of that before the end of february. Whatever I get is going to be manual and a two door, because I'm cool enough to drive something like that. Before my car was rummaged through, I went with a couple of friends to the Shakespeare Tavern to see The Merchant of Venice. It was very enjoyable and I think that I realized the problem that Shakespeare has when it is taught in school. I think for the most part the teachers totally miss out on the humor present in Shakespeare and dont show it to the students. Seeing one of his plays live definitly helps with that. Or maybe its because all they teach in high school are the tragedies where there isnt too much humor to begin with. Or maybe its because almost nobody in high school gives a shit about Shakespeare to begin with, who knows. They had a nifty q&a forum after the play with some of the actors, the director, and a few other english goons on the portrayal of Shylock in the play and the jewish stereotype that was developed out of the character. Interesting topic matter, but I noticed that most of the people in the audience who stayed werent so much asking questions as just spouting off opinions. I had a burning question that was brought up that if any shakespeare readers out there want to get into a discussion, let me know and we can muse over it. As I mentioned earlier, I'll be 21 in less than 2 weeks. I suppose I should be more excited or whatever, but I guess inbetween travelling and having a fake i use on occasion, this isnt too built up. All I'll be doing is showing people a different ID. I'm debating the 'get ridiculously fucking drunk' norm for 21; I was never one for the hang overs after nights like that. We shall see what kind of trouble my friends can dig up for me. There's some Flamenco performance going on Sunday, let me know if anyone is interested.
