Yesterday we discovered that the chimney was blown down. Dad, of course, ended up on the news, hamming it up with the neighbor.
"Now Santa Claus can't come!" dad

"Well that's okay cuz I'm a rabbi.." dad

Personally, I'm wondering if I'm going to end up still being here by Christmas. I think probly so. It all depends on the all-powerful Dentist and what can be done at what time, etc etc.
I have been inspired lately by two writers - Chesterton and Rilke.
There are so many fires in Ventura County...it's scary...
nothing around where we are...just wind..
