Various links to interesting things:
A wild jaguar was accidentally captured recently in southern Arizona by Arizona Game and Fish, which took the opportunity to radio collar the critter. Now they're tracking the jaguar's movements. Its the first real study of a jaguar in the US in modern times. Coolness.
http://www.azgfd.gov/artman/publish/article_1110.shtml Ruggels posted a link to "Sita Sings the Blues" on his lj, and I clicked on the link figuring I'd just watch a few minutes just to see what it was. I wound up watching the whole 120 minute movie. Go! Watch it! Be mesmerized! Classic tale from India meets 20's jazz music meets modern animator's love life and Flash animation! Lots of fun ensues, really!
I love the narrators....
http://www.thirteen.org/sites/reel13/blog/watch-sita-sings-the-blues-online/347/ I noticed my new book is now mentioned on Amazon.com. No pictures or real info, but it's there! It's official, woo hoo! Comes out Nov. 17th. And no, I did NOT name it. Oh well, I guess that's what they think will sell. I guess they know better than I do what sells books, but I swear, it's not ALL adorable creatures. OK, so there's probably a LOT of adorable creatures, but still, there's some fierce lookin' dragons and fu dogs and whatnot too....honest... :)

I've been looking for this banned cartoon for 20 years... it's now available on Youtube. Disney's Donald Duck stars in "Der Fuehrer's Face"! I guess it's been banned because of the racial stereotyping in the beginning? Clever use of shadows and repetition leading to a visual punchline at the end. Songs are actually kinda catchy, too.
