Miner's lettuce question

Aug 21, 2007 23:37

I'm working on the bobcat card idea, set in a California setting with some CA plants such as (possibly) Miner's lettuce. (I miss Miner's lettuce...) I'm wondering if you'd really see much of it during summer time? I know it's more common in winter but from what I can tell it would be growing (at least in wetter areas) in the summer, too.) Anyone know if it's flowering during the summer? I have read that it turns redder as it dries out in the summer heat.
Just trying to be accurate...
Hey- whaddaya know- just found out Miner's lettuce IS found in AZ! It's throughout a lot of the west, in fact! I always think of it as a CA plant. So that stuff I thought looked like Miner's lettuce last year probably WAS! Yum!

Oh, BTW- I finally completed a project of EPIC proportions (not kidding)- I cleaned my room and office, which had gotten so bad they'd become the 800 pound gorillas I didn't like to talk about but were always there. It's amazing how relieved I feel now, and how I feel like a burden weighing heavily upon me for a very long time is finally gone. I also had a flash of inspiration on my comic strip and was able to get many strips done at once, which frees up time for other projects. I feel "clearer". So hopefully this all means I'll be more productive art-wise for awhile.
