So Dalton is leaving November 8th. On November 15th, a guy named Justin is going to come up from a ranch near Tucson to take his place. We shall see how it goes.

Meanwhile, my future has definitely taken a shift lately. I've been talking with my aunt and Dan recently about what I want to do after I leave the ranch next September, and realized that I want to work with homeless youth. More specifically I want to start a not-for-profit mustang turnout ranch (adopt wild mustangs, train them and sell them for higher prices), and bring in about 14 homeless youth (want to focus on LGBT homeless youth) at a time from around the country to live at the ranch for 11 months, learn how to train horses as a trade, finish their GED, have regular support groups and life management classes, job searching for when they leave, and collect a small salary (half of which is held by the ranch until they leave so they have a guaranteed savings they can use for housing).

I'm going to call Kevin this afternoon to see how realistic it is to bring in homeless youth to the equation, since I think the biggest issue would be injury liability. I figure that Kevin will know more than anybody about it since he is the Homeless Youth Project coordinator at EON, and he also knows about non-profit resources as well.
