Rare Pair Fest Letter
Dear Rare Pair Writer,
I decided to get this up and operational since I can't be the only one looking at requests and changing up my offers.
So glad that you're going to write me something I'm going to love!
General wants/don't wants:
Stories don’t need to be super sappy and sugary/fluffy, but please don’t get all grim and dark. Bittersweet can work if there are hopeful tinges. I like humor, and I don't think I do a good job of writing it - sparkling snappy dialogue always works!
I generally prefer het or gen. Explicit sex can be good, romance is always in.
I'm a fan of AU, but prefer canon-divergence or "what-if" scenarios, rather than "all the characters are at boarding school together" types. (Unless, of course, the characters are already together at boarding school together...)
I am a huge fan of "seemingly unrelated group of people trapped somewhere and discover they a) have something in common and b) can't just leave" - see Clue, see And Then There Were None. Please feel free to get soap opera-ish! Half-siblings no one knew about! Illegitimate siblings you thought were just family friends! Psycho-half-siblings who want to kill you and take your life over! Convenient accidents! Crazy wills and marriages of convenience!
No dubcon/non-con, graphic violence and gore, sexual violence, cruelty to animals. No major character death that isn't canon (feel free to kill extras off).
On to specifics:
1. He-Man and the Masters of the Universe
King Randor/Queen Marlena (He-Man)
DNW: excessive violence/gore, sexual violence, cruelty to animals/children
I love these two, and there is never enough of them, just them.
My favorite moment is in Rainbow Warrior, when she pulls off her helmet and Randor says, "Marlena, MY QUEEN" (and then He-Man almost slips and calls her Mom). Give me something along those lines, or Marlena's early days on Eternia - fitting in, in need of cheering up. Feel free to go steamy or higher here.
I would really love to see something on their early days, how the woman from another world charms the young King Randor.
2. She-Ra: Princess Of Power
He-Man | Adam/Castaspella (She-Ra)
DNW: excessive violence/gore, sexual violence, cruelty to animals/children
I really like these two. I think they work well together. If you want to play up how different Adam is on Eternia v. Etheria, you can work it in. Maybe they're trapped together...

Again, the prompt really says it all. Not sure on explicitness here, but fade-to-black serves many purposes. I have a very soft spot for Adam and his whole issue with his father and He-Man.
3. Baby-Sitters Club - Ann M. Martin
John Kishi/Rioko Kishi, Maureen Spencer/Richard Spier, Janine Kishi/Charlie Thomas
DNW: excessive violence/gore, sexual violence, cruelty to animals/children
So I'm largely here for the parents (although I can never resist Charlie/Janine - older siblings rock).
John/Rioko - I feel like we know the least about Claudia's parents' relationship. But at the end of it, they're the only one left still married. Tell me about them.
Maureen/Richard - Look, just ignore the whole thing where Richard and Sharon hook up again. (Warning: NOT a Dawn fan here) If that never happens, then you can't tell me that at SOME POINT, no one thinks to try and hook these two up.
Charlie/Janine - I'm really partial to "home from college hookups" and being thrown together by their siblings' events.
Feel free to go steamy and beyond.
I don't have much to add - haven't seen any of the first 2, but I'm a sucker for the parents. For Charlie/Janine, I also like the families being all "didn't see that one coming".
4. Crossover Fandom
Diana (Wonder Woman - 2017)/Steve Rogers (Captain America - Movies)
Sam Thomas (The Baby-Sitters Club)/Jessica Wakefield (Sweet Valley High)
Diana (Wonder Woman)/James "Bucky" Barnes (MCU)Fanfiction
DNW: excessive violence/gore, sexual violence, cruelty to animals/children
I can see either of the Diana pairings - maybe a little more Diana and Bucky (I can see him showing her that men are not unnecessary)
Sam and Jessica - I don't know who suggested this, but you're a genius and I suddenly need it. Sounds like time for Stoneybrook High students to go play sports in California

I can totally see why people are pairing Diana and Steve, and it could be interesting.
I can also see her going along with the Howling Commandos and Bucky, and him having a similar reaction to Steve Trevor. (Bonus points if you work in an "above-average" reference)
As for Sam and Jessica...I don't know who suggested it, but now I need it. Something light-hearted would be best, I think, with plenty of beaches, bikinis, tans, and 1980s-90s California.
5. Voltron: Lion Voltron
Romelle/Sven (Lion Voltron), Allura/Lance (Lion Voltron)
DNW: excessive violence/gore, sexual violence, cruelty to animals/children
I love Romelle/Sven and the strength in their relationshp, give me something sweet and sexy.
Allura/Lance - I can totally see him showing her a good time, just once.

6. Vorkosigan Saga - Lois McMaster Bujold
Ivan Vorpatril/Tej Arqua Vorpatril
DNW: excessive violence/gore, sexual violence, cruelty to animals/children
I love these two and can't get enough - give me something sweet and sexy at a formal deal, either off-world or in the Winterfair social whirl.
I seriously can't get enough of these two. I love them whether they're being sweet and sexy or a little serious - but I have a soft sport for the Barrayaran social whirl, perhaps with a little extra adventure.
