(no subject)
My birthday was last week. I had a planned party at an Irish pub on the strip, a table reserved for ten people, and I was expecting about twelve total, to come and go throughout the evening. Four people (including myself) showed up. It was kind of pathetic, really. But the four of us had a good time.
It just reminded me how flakey people in this town are, no matter their intentions. At least I know I have three good friends I can count on for anything. And I have a bunch more here on the internet that I know are better friends than all those that didn't show. (Ngl, it still hurt a little.)
Other than that, I don't have much to say. Made a new friend through OK Cupid. He's nice and sweet and a little bit of a dork, just the way I like my friends. :) He was one of the ones that came to my party. :)
An old friend got in touch with me on my birthday, to say hi and apologize for her part in letting our communication lapse. It was a very sweet email, and I emailed her back, and then we texted a couple times that night. But, then, I was talking to my dad (our parents are good friends) and he mentioned there was an event in Las Vegas that she and her husband want to attend, and maybe I should be careful there won't be an inquiry about staying with me. He basically insinuated that that may be the only reason for getting in touch with me. I don't know. I'd like to think that's not the case. I would like to see her, but not necessarily as a house guest. And she hasn't emailed or texted again, so we'll see. I hope her reasons are pure, that she was just thinking about Las Vegas, and me, and thought "Hey, I should get in touch with her, I miss her."
Anyway, how are things going with all of you? Are you all enjoying Bandom Big Bang as much as I am?
