Excuse me, painting's not everything!
I had a woman this morning who I was just blown away by, not in a good way either. I was helping her find things in the store when she asked me about Linseed oil and if we have it. No prob. She then asks me if we have painting medium and what the best medium to use is. I DON'T FRIGGIN KNOW!!! I'm not into painting, it seems over done. Everyone and their extended family who happens to be an artist seems to think that if you want to be an artist, you need to paint (I work with clayboard, the underdog and far more preferable).
ANYWAY, so why does this bug me? Well, when I told her I honestly couldn't give her a good answer on that, she told me I was obviously not an artist because I didn't know. I am an artist, I take pride in it, and I quickly explained that fact (tagging in there that paint simply isn't my area of focus). For the rest of the time she was here, she was fairly civil but somehow ended up making me carry her things for her (I have no clue how that happened). later
