Well I've spent a few hours yesterday and a few more today checking out available jobs... its not very encouraging. Most of the discouraging feeling stems from not having a direction. Do I want to go into teaching? Some kind of human resources work? Job with the State Department? I do very much enjoy teaching. TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language) still *seems* ideal... Get my master's, a few years experience, then then try to do that Foreign Service English Language Officer position... or if I'm not accepted, I can keep teaching. Teach in the States or Abroad. Or I could even join non-profits with that degree, helping immigrants/refugees settling into the country.
When I say it (or type it) aloud like that it makes sense. But when I go looking at jobs and universities I feel bogged down, like it'll never happen, and quite lost. Perhaps the best solution is to just look at universities and do it, ignore the rest. But then I wonder what other opportunities am I missing...?
