monogatari life goes on and on...

Let's see. Last weekend Bryan, Amanda, Matt (Bryan's friend) and I went to Sapporo. Adam and Chelsea were there, but didn't hang out with us so much. Ken Chan found us by accident, and due to drama within his group, spent his evenings with our group, which is cool 'cause I never usually see him around. The snow scupltures were okay, though I didn't see any I really liked this year. The coolest part was watching the international division making their scupltures right in front of us. This is no simple pile of snow that you lump together into something... the requires hammers, saws, picks, sanders, and a whole bunch of other equipment. I'm sure there are people in Sapporo who do it as a living.

The food was amazing too. I (heart) kebobs.

This past wednesday (because thursday was a national holiday) I went out with Bryan, Mika, and a Japanese couple Bryan is friends with, who are absolutely wonderful people. And who else showed up at the restaurant but Juni and Ron, two co-workers who moved to Shanghai last year! Evidently they're friends with Kohei and his wife... oooooh what a small world. So we drank some really good german beer together, had a bit of food, and then I went home so Bryan and Mika could have some time together ;)

Tomorrow I'm suppose to go to Faces, the dance club in Morioka. Ken said I should definitely come, if only because it will be his last time DJing. And I haven't been to a Faces event in the 3 years I've been here... but I'm not really a dance-club-party-girl, so I'll probably do dinner and an hour at the club, then run away back to my apartment. Anyway, I've been around people so much recently I just want a bit of space.

Other plans for this weekend? Watch Beauty and the Beast while I scrapbook. Call my parents. Maybe I'll try to download and watch the Wedding Singer too.

I've started writing poetry again. I often wrote in highschool. In college almost none. Since Japan there was none, except what I began working on for D&D, my epic bardic tale of adventure... but there is something about the cold winter, experiencing death and heartache that leaves me needing some form of expression. Lacking the people to talk to, I'm writing. Actually not only writing, I've been drawing! I drew (in my anything but humble opinion) an amazing cavalry horse and rider charging, with sword drawn. It took me days to do, but it's finially finished :D I also drew an adroable teddy bear, but that wasn't nearly so difficult.

And alas, there are no snowdays for me. *tear* I don't think the Japanese schools would even *think* about having a snow day, no matter how much they got. Heck, there can be a typhoon hitting and they still make us come to work. Classes are cancelled those days, but teachers still have to show up. Go figure.

Cheers.
