And I take it, that since they thrive in hot weather, this heat isn't going away any time soon. Great. Thats what I was originally going to write about.
I just wrote what ended up being a rant on Japan/weather/lack of grass and trees. I deleted it. But in summary:
1. Why am I being a whimp about the heat when I've never had an air conditioned summer job?
2. Because that job was in a lovely cool forest, that got really cold and wonderful at night
3. So why doesn't japan have lovely trees and grass to shade this concrete hell?
4. I find no answer good enough. Except that they are Japanese. And that is a far cry from acceptable.
QUESTION:
I will soon come home, and while there, I will be picking up a large amount of books to bring back to Japan. I need suggestions. I don't want to spend all my time walking around book stores (though god knows I love doing that). I'm looking for fiction/SF/fantasy books, but not really mysteries please, unless they're REALLY really good.
