Ok, I officially have the first cold of the season... I'm hoping it will also be the last cold of the year, but somehow I don't think that's going to happen.
So, while my SO is being an angel and is taking Sam to Kindergarten every morning I get to rest and sleep lots. Today I got to sleep lots more because my brother picked Sam up from Kindergarten and took him over to our parents where my SO picked him up this evening, so I had all day to myself! I spent a lot of time reading, some time knitting and watching episodes of friends and some more time sleeping, which might explain why I am not exactly tired now. Well, I am tired and yawning but when I lie down there's no sleeping happening at all. Coughing on the other hand is happening very much as soon as I lie down, so that's why I'm up here.
I've worked on Bob and Weave some more and my ball of yarn is nearly used up.
I've also knit some more on Sam's Pullover, I attached a new cream ball there yesterday, it's looking nice and big, I'm up to nearly where the sleeves will start and since this is my first pullover I'm slightly lost as to what needs to be done now. Maybe I'll take it along to the LYS as soon as I get the chance, they'll probably know what I ought to be doing.
I can't wait to get Sam's Pullover finished. I want to knit an I do and a pullover from an old german knitting book that was my Grandmothers for me. The Pullover uses 7mm needles and looks promisingly quick, except I can't seem to be able to find a yarn that's not wool and not Chenille and not amazingly expensive :-/
I would really like either microfiber or cotton. Well, actually I would like to be able to wear wool without feeling the need to scratch all my skin off, but that's probably not going to happen.
I will probably order some yarn from
here because they have a nice selection and the nicest prices. I will try out wool for felting a bag (Anuschka ind red, jeans and bordeaux) some Mohair for I do (Festival red; Lady-Mohair bordeaux; Quick-Mohair kastanie) and I want one ball of Luna (color 3 rot-colori) because I really love that color in the picture.
I really wish there were self striping cotton yarn on the market. I also like the Lollipop Chenille yarn they sell. I have two balls here, one a light blue and the other a variegated blue. I like the feel of it but I have started a scarf with the variegated and I hate working with it. Yeah it's nice and soft and everything, but I know chenille tends to loose all it's "hairy bits" where it rubs together. I know this because Sam has a really nice chenille pullover that's completely bare in the areas where the fabric rubs together, like near the armpits and on the bottom ribbing. I'd hate it if a perfectly good pullover I made would do that, so that's why I won't use Chenille on a big project.
