Ok, I'm done.

I dyed 3 skeins of:
1: sock yarn, 75%wool, superwash, 25% Polyamid
2. sock yarn, 45% cotton, 42% wool, superwash, 13% polyamid
3. wool, 100% wool, conditioned (it says hand wash, so I'm guessing it's not superwash.)

I used easter egg dye.
The first batch is the wool sock yarn, I made a mistake, I had wanted red/blue/orange/green and did red/orange/green/blue (I think, it's quite dark blue and green and I can't quite tell which is which. And the orange and red are nearly the same color, too..) I let it sit in the pots on the stove at moderate heat for I don't know how long exactly, but it had nearly used up all the orange and red and the blue and green were quite light when I took it out.

The second batch was the pure wool, I put it into the remainder of the blue and green, about half in each pot. It looks really nice, the blue is very pale and the green is slightly darker.

The third batch is the cotton blend sock yarn. I used green and yellow dye (all I had left) and put it in about 50/50. It's really cool, I think it'll make nice stripes, but you can see where the cotton and the polyamid are because they didn't take the dye at all. I'm thinking about overdying it with the cotton dye I've got because that says it doesn't dye wool. Maybe that'll end up making a nice variegated/self striping yarn.. But I don't know what color I would use for that, I have red, blue and yellow. Red yellow and green looks too much like traffic lights, blue green and yellow I think would turn it all into a kind of green, and the yellow wouldn't really change anything, so maybe I'll just leave it. The cotton blend also "bled" the most.
Right now I'm pretty happy with the results, I'll tell you more tomorrow when it's all dry and I can tell where which color ends better..

dye, yarn
