Sorry, there's baby babble coming.. This pregnancy is making me go nuts. And vegetarian. When I was pg with Sam I was still a vegetarian. I craved meat and things throughout that pregnancy but didn't eat any because it did gross me out.
This time I don't want meat. I mean, I want chili, but I'd prefer it without meat. I get sick when I eat meat. Even after taking my anti vomiting medicine I feel a lot worse after eating things with meat. This baby will clearly be a vegetarian... Or at least it's trying to make me re-convert.
I went vegetarian in late 96 and stayed that way until I became lactose intolerant and gained a lot of weight because I was eating (naturally) lactose free foods (gummibears, liquorice, chips,...) like a champion. I finally started adding things like salami and ham and eventually meat back into my diet in erm, 2004? 2005? I can't even remember. But I was a vegetarian for at least 8 years, so it's not going to be hard to go back, I know how to cook without meat and I know how to combine different foods for maximum nutritional effect. But it's bothering me. I mean, last time I chose to go vegetarian, this time I'll do it because I have to... Besides, why can't I just feel sick after eating eggs, like when I was pg with Sam?!
Today Sam and Alex went to the baker in the "morning" (they left at half past 11) and since all bakeries where we are were closed they went to the Train station in the city, about 30-45 minutes by bike (Sam is not a slow biker. He's just like me, if you can get there fast, why get there slow?). I wanted a
"Granatsplitter". It's german thing. Basically it's cake leftovers mixed together covered in chocolate. the thing is, I love the ones at the bakery around the corner. My great-grandmother loved them and I got to take a bite when I was around when she had one. And she always got them from the baker around the corner from here. I have had others and they were never as good. Since Alex knows (I told him about 10 times before he left) he brought me something different.
Berliner. They're like a jam filled donut rolled in sugar. I love them. I opened the bag, took a sniff, wrinkled my nose and handed him the bag. Oh boy. This baby hates me!
