Hard Times

I'm sipping an Arabic espresso at Hard Times Cafe here in Minneapolis. I've ditched out on the other sessions for the NAISA conference today so that I could get some work done for the conference next week. It's been a rough couple days, but I think I'm in a comfortable enough place (i.e., coffeehouse) to write about it.

Ah, the Minne-apple! We lived there for five years, by the French Meadow Bakery. May Day at Powderhorn Park is the best thing ever. Really.

It was a very competitive environment to get a job. The city attracts new grads from all over the mid-west. Plus there are a ton of schools in the area. That made it hard. People asked both Brian and I separately if NMU was accredited! Because it's not in MN, don't cha know.
