Coachella 2006

So I attended Coachella this year, just like last year and the year before. Here's the breakdown (in chronological order):

Saturday
Animal Collective (eh, I've already seen them live so I took off for Clap Your Hands)
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah (Pretty impressive live, definitely made me appreciate the band a lot more)
TV on the Radio (One of the three cornerstone acts of this Coachella)
Sigur Ros (Rocking of course)
Franz Ferdinand (This band has no soul. They weren't bad, but whatever)
Daft Punk (Pretty good)

Sunday
Mates of State (Haha they're so cute)
Metric (Rocking, that band loves being on stage. They eat up the attention like no one else I've ever seen. Freaking awesome show, cornerstone act number 2)
Wolf Parade (... There really aren't any words to describe how amazing this band is live. Cornerstone act 3, and the overall best act at coachella, in my opinion)
Paul Oakenfold (pretty damn good)
Yeah Yeah Yeahs (Good, they didn't play enough off of their old album though. Also, the lead singer reminds me of a schoolgirl who just got a new dress and likes twirling around like no one can see her)
Mogwai (Er, wow. Really fucking good)
Massive Attack (Good, but this band is past its prime. Caught Teardrop and Angel though)
The Go! Team (This band is hilarious and I wish I'd caught more of their set)
Scissor Sisters (this band is weird)
Tool (Only caught one song - Schism. They were good)

Oh yeah, and

Highlights: Well, like I mentioned, Metric, Wolf Parade and TV on the Radio were incredible. TV on the Radio and Wolf Parade specifically were freaking amazing. Seeing Jim Agius for the first time in a while rocked, and we got a picture with Seu Jorge (the awesome dude who did all of the Bowie covers for The Life Aquatic). The ride home was long and hard, but I stayed awake to keep Jon awake.

Overall verdict: A+++ would attend again.
