another valentines day whinge
since everybody else is doing it, my turn to whinge about valentine's day. truth is it means a lot to me, being a romantic soppy git at heart, i just somehow manage to screw it up so that when the actual day comes around i miss the opportunity to acknowledge it properly. i think the most ironic case was a couple of years ago when i had a massive argument with W 2 days before valentine's day (one of those "get out of my life i'm never speaking to you again" arguments that i seem to be so good at precipitating), only to have her call me 2 days after valentine's day and ask me to come over to see her. i think i've been cursed to spend valentines day alone regardless of my relationship status.
in other news, have been spending a lot of time with the heidelburg crew lately, helping pete get a RPing campaign started, and just generally hanging around. has been pleasant (except for being surrounded by 2 sets of soppy couples while the boys try vainly to make secret preparations for VD while the girls keep asking me what their partners are hiding. i of course pretend to know nothing, but nobody believes it naturally).
passed on going to a party sat night, wasnt feeling quite up to facing the world just yet, then ended up at DV8 instead, lots of crowds, but the atmosphere was a little muted for some reason, except when C dragged me onto the dancefloor for closer and challenged me to prove that the last time we danced wasnt a fluke, which we did, much to the amusment and shock of various friends and onlookers. seems i was taken by some spirit of recklessness and playfulness and didnt hold myself back like i ussually do in public. which makes a mockery of my not going to a party because of social phobia doesn't it?
other than that, nothing much happening in my life, going to the gym semi-regularly (the problem is finding the motivation to actually go, once there it isnt so bad), keeping pretty much to myself most of the time, same old same old i guess.
