This was an interesting trailer to compose the music for. Originally one of the directors wanted something that was more Radiohead (I think that is what he said) . I started composing in that realm and it just wouldn't work. I noticed the jump cuts had a pulse to it so I placed in a back beat to it. Then I composed a simple Spanish guitar melody along with more percussion. I kept adding more and more sounds so it reaches an apex towards the end of the trailer. My favorite part is at 1:06 where I introduced a cello. I just love cellos playing in a minor key mixed with pulsating drums and someone saying "Why do you want to die?"
I'll be composing the full soundtrack for it this coming week.
