Work, Presentation, Job Offer #1.
Gave my presentation and totally rocked the room. Bramer was like "You were phenomenal. You nailed it." Mark said the same thing, and Garner and Dr. H complimented me on the way I handled their questions, even when they tried to throw me off. They said that I had the best presentational skills they had seen in the class. Overall, Dr. H. said I was about middle of the pack. Eh. But Mark and Bramer have been really supportive, and it's the real world that counts.
Also today, Wendy (VP of Quality) informally offered me a job in her department. I would be doing things similar to what I am doing now, for risk management and infection control. It would be cool. Not only would I be doing the investigative part of determining what our performance is and why, but also designing mechanisms to spread that information up and down the pipeline, but educating and communicating to staff about said quality and risk management stuff. She is also sending out my resume to various consulting firms. We met for an hour and a half, talking about career stuff. She gave me a little project for Monday, and I really hope I don't fuck it up :p
Tonight, Kristina and I went to the GDC Christmas Party (our PR firm) at the new club in town, Suede. It was fun. I sat and chilled with Herman and Candice and Bramer and Kristina. I bought a pink sheared beaver scarf today, too :p I keep waiting to come down from this amazing cloud. Hope nothing really crappy happens :p
