I'm a smurf.

And it's seascribe's fault. She told me to go on with my important rl stuff. And look what it got me: I'm blue! Well, my hands are. But they are actual smurf-blue! *shows hands*

Dear flist, some piece of advise: If your nice, colourful hippie-esque scarfs, bags, etc that the friendly man at the booth tells you he got directly from the people who made them in India/Cambodia/Paraguay stain your neck/clothes because they are not colourfast at all, put them in the washing machine! Never mind that they might come out in pastels. Washing them by hand in the shower till the draining water isn't dark anymore but only pale blue is not a good idea. Because touching the wet not-colourfast clothes? Kneading and milling it? Without gloves? Big no-no.

And since I'm posting:

Uni is work (and mostly to blame for the 2-week-old notifies in my inbox I don't get around to answer). But interesting. Good courses this semester.

Iran is taking shape, we've revised our route 4 times now, I think, and are in the process of having people pick the sites they want to give talks about. I might post the route this week, if we get a copy of the latest version before the week of Whitsun break. It'll be awfully rushed, but a great experience.

Nothing new on Lebanon, except that we'll probably fly on August 3. It'll be exhausting, and we'll be sweaty and dirty and tired and sick and whatelse, but still, excavation! *does happy dance of excavation*

Friday Tabea will come and visit, stay the weekend, and Sunday or Monday we'll go home (not here, but where the family is and she still lives) together. I'm hoping for good music when we're going out Friday and Sunday night, and good weather at home so we can go swimming in Lake Constance.

Thursday next week we'll go to Rock im Park, a three-day-long rock festival with many many bands ("Rock im Park" and "Rock am Ring" are, according to the homepage, the two largest open-air events in Europe). Festival is Friday to Sunday, we'll go Thursday afternoon and leave directly after the last performance, probably already on Monday, via bus. If you want to know what bands are playing, click on the link, then on the left side on "Spielplan/Bands/Bühnen". We'll come back with dark circles around the eyes, better not forget the earplugs, and if I was less of an atheist, I'd pray for good weather. It'll be fun!

I have successfully repressed any awareness of the Supernatural hiatus we are facing, and am working on All Hell Breaks Loose now.

We (Mirja, Anne, and me) finished Lost Season two. We were watching in German, because M's English isn't that good. grace_poppy, I thought Desmond was okay. Then they said he's Scottish. After half an hour of whining I got one scene in English. You are right. I love him.

I watched an episode of Stargate Atlantis some days ago (first season, the only one I got on DVD, and realized that Zelenka, the Czech scientist, talks just like matimate writes. I was deeply impressed and am wondering in what other regards the show might be more realistic that I give it credit for.

Wait, how much did I just write? *checks* Oh. I didn't plan to ramble like this. It just happened. ...I think I better hide the ramblings under a cut.

You know, when I think about it, right now I like my life. A lot. It may only be small-ish things, but they are all me and all good. Hee, don't worry, I'll go back to complaining after Whitsun break, when paper time arrives.
