Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is he heavyset, thin, short, rangy?

Somewhere around five-feet four-inches. Kyle is not a large man. It’s mentioned that he and Mercy are around the same size and she’s not a particularly tall woman. So, yes. Petite but not a pushover.

2. How old is he?

Turning the big 3-0, and don’t mention it to him or he will snap your head off. Birthdays are something that Kyle absolutely aren’t counting.

3. Describe his posture. Does he carry himself well or does he slouch?

Kyle doesn’t slouch, although he might lean alluringly, or otherwise pose. He likes putting his body on display, it calls attention away from what his mind might be doing.

4. How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?

Kyle goes to the gym five times a week, and runs daily. He’s in great shape, although the stress of his job (or more likely, the stress of worrying about what Warren’s up to) wears on his health.

5. How does he move? Is he clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?

Gracefully. Kyle moves with minimum effort and maximum appeal, which he practices and knows looks good.

6. How attractive is this character physically? How does he perceive himself in the mirror?

Kyle is extremely physically attractive. Well-groomed, well-kept, and he knows it and works hard to maintain it. He’s a little vain, really. Of course, he does worry about little lines and wrinkles and god forbid there should ever be a grey hair. It doesn’t help that Warren will never look older. At all.

7. Describe his complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?

Not pale, but he doesn’t spend ages tanning to a crispy brown either. His only scars consist of a line on his knee from falling off a bike when he was six and faint marks on his ribs from where an agitated Warren swiped him (completely by accident and Kyle forgives him utterly for it).

8. Describe his hair: color, texture, style.

A healthy chestnut brown with hints of lighter honey-gold in the sun, but in colder months or when his hair is wet it is the colour of dark chocolate. His hair is thick and according to canon he gets it cut weekly in the latest style, presumably by the best hairdressers in the city.

9. What color are his eyes?

Greyish blue.

10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features?

All of Kyle is noteworthy. But seriously, he has pouty lips too.

11. What are his chief tension centers?

The temples and his shoulders. Although Kyle can hide tension in both these places extremely well when he wants to.

12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does he have six of the same suit?

Kyle‘s wardrobe is vast and eclectic. On the one hand, he has the smart tailored suits, the expensive polo shirts, the well-fitting designer jeans, a shoe closet, labels upon labels upon fashion labels. On the other hand, he has a “special” wardrobe he uses when he’s trying to fake out other people. Pink cowboy hats, leather chaps, loud Hawaiian shirts, and every gay stereotype imaginable. Whatever Kyle’s wearing, he makes a statement.

13. Do his clothes fit well? Does he seem comfortable in them?

Kyle‘s clothes always fit well, and he is always comfortable in them.

14. Does he dress the same on the job as he does in his free time? If not, what are the differences?

That depends on what kind of job he‘s doing. If he’s visiting his client’s significant other and their lawyer pre-trial, then Kyle may very well wear things he would never wear in his free time.

15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando?

Designer briefs.

Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?

Kyle’s voice is soft and higher-pitched than the average man's voice.

2. How does he normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does he talk easily, or does he hesitate?

Again, it depends on what he’s doing and who he’s talking to. Kyle can change himself to suit a situation, and that includes his voice.

3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?

An American accent, and he sometimes talks like he came straight out of Cotillion but other than that, nothing I‘d call a quirk.

4. What language/s does he speak, and with how much fluency?

Kyle speaks English as a native language, and was educated in Latin. His travels as a teen give him a fluency in Spanish and Italian, and his business contacts have lent him smatterings of Mandarin and other Asian languages.

5. Does he switch languages or dialects in certain situations?

If it’s necessary to do so, but usually if he’s speaking English and that person understand him then he will continue in English.

6. Is he a good impromptu speaker, or does he have to think about his words?

Kyle makes a living out of speaking, and although most of it is prepared speech, he‘s also very good at the spur of the moment.

7. Is he eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change?

Kyle is eloquent in all things except talking about his feelings or other people‘s feelings. Or in circumstances when he’s helpless and knows it, although he’s more likely to keep his mouth shut than stutter and fumble with words in that case.

Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is he book-smart or street-smart?

Kyle is smart. A business man and a practical thinker. Very well-educated. Graduated from Cornell at the top of his class and at a young age. It’s mostly book smarts though. Sometimes the real world throws him for a loop.

2. Does he think on his feet, or does he need time to deliberate?

Kyle would rather have time to think, but he knows sometimes it’s not possible and he’ll do what he has to, when he has to.

3. Describe the character's thought process. Is he more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical?

Kyle would like to think he’s more logical than intuitive, but his feelings get the better of him sometimes. If it’s just business, then he can be extremely practical and distance himself. If it involves more of the gooey emotional messes, then Kyle can be ruled by his feelings.

Kyle was put in the top private schools in Washington, attended an ivy-league college, and a prestigious law school. It’s safe to say he’s very well educated.

5. What are his areas of expertise? What, if anything, is he interested in learning more about?

Kyle’s expertise lies in people. He likes to think he knows what makes them tick, and he likes making them tick in time to the tune he plays. He’s also is a fount of legal knowledge. He finds philosophy fascinating and would probably wish to know more about it.

6. Is he an introvert or an extrovert?

Kyle is an extrovert in that he likes people, likes being around people, but he doesn’t really let them that close. Which I suppose would make him an introvert? Seriously, Kyle’s best friends are a werewolf and a coyote. His only friends, really. He has no one else he’d trust enough to eat popcorn with.

7. Describe the character's temperament. Is he even-tempered or does he have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven?

Kyle is mostly laid-back, or at least he gives the appearance of being laid back. He can smile cool and cut you to shreds later, when he has the time. If he really trusts you, he will show his true feelings, but even then it would take something extreme to draw it out.

8. How does he respond to new people or situations? Is he suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic?

Depends on the person or the situation. Kyle likes to provoke if he senses disapproval. But he can be charm itself otherwise.

9. Is he more likely to act, or to react?

In dangerous situations Kyle is more likely to watch and then react. He’ll let others take the first step. In situations where he thinks he’s got a handle on things, he’ll act first.

Default is flight. Kyle runs from the overwhelming.

Kyle likes to joke and tease. Teasing more than joking, really. And he’ll give as good as he gets.

12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does he deal with them?

Nothing you could take to a psychiatrist. He has trust issues though.

13. What moments in this character's life have defined him as a person?

His parents disowning him. Meeting Warren. Meeting Mercy through Warren. Finding out about werewolves. Almost losing Warren.

14. What does he fear?

Abandonment. Being lied to. Vampires. Having no control.

15. What are his hopes or aspirations?

Kyle just wants to live normally with his boyfriend. It’s just that his boyfriend is the third in command to a pack of werewolves who have just come out to the general public. Barring that, he’d like everyone he cares about to be safe and well. He wouldn’t mind winning a few more cases either.

16. What is something he doesn't want anyone to find out about him?

Werewolves still scare him.

Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with his parents.

In a word: bad. Kyle’s parents mainly ignored him growing up, except when they wanted to boast about his future as a mini-incarnation of his father. He spent the majority of his teens trying to convince them he was gay and when they finally couldn’t deny it anymore, they disowned him.

2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?

One sister, Ally. Kyle was very close to her growing up, but their relationship was strained when he came out as homosexual. However, they still talk to each other, and Ally is learning to accept Kyle’s lifestyle, even inviting him to bring Warren to Thanksgiving.

3. Are there other blood relatives to whom he is close? Are there ones he can't stand?

Kyle is estranged from the rest of his family, and doesn’t care to re-establish contact.

4. Are there other, unrelated people whom he considers part of his family? What are his relationships with them?

Mercy is like a sister to him.

5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?

Mercy, probably, if we’re not counting friends who are also lovers. They met through Warren, as he was friends with Mercy first.

6. Does he have other close friends?

Sadly no.

7. Does he make friends easily, or does he have trouble getting along with people?

Kyle makes acquaintances very well, and before Warren he made lovers, but not friends. He usually doesn’t let people that close, though he has no trouble getting along with them.

8. Which does he consider more important: family or friends?

Considering the bulk of his family, Kyle would consider friends more important.

9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has he been married more than once?

Currently attached to a male werewolf from Texas. Never married.

10. Is he currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse?

Just Warren.

11. Who was his first crush? Who is his latest?

His first crush was a classmate in high school which was awkward and embarrassing as all high school crushes seem to be. His latest? Well, he does like Brad Pitt and awful lot.

12. What does he look for in a romantic partner?

Strength, confidence, someone he can trust.

13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does he relate to them? If no, does he want any?

Not a chance. Although looking after Adam’s daughter is something I expect he and Warren do on occasion.

14. Does he have any rivals or enemies?

He wouldn’t call Ben a rival, but they don’t like each other. And Kyle is scared of him but would never admit it.

15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does he fall on the Kinsey scale?

Gay gay gay gay gay.

16. How does he feel about sex? How important is it to him?

Kyle loves sex and thinks it’s very important. It used to be the only way he communicated with his boyfriends, really.

17. What are his turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits?

Turn ons: Kyle likes his partners to be dominant. He’ll make them work for it, of course, ad prove they deserve his submission, but he likes knowing they’re strong enough to handle him. He also likes to know exactly how to please his lovers, which works out well if they tell him what to do. It’s a security thing. By having no physical control, Kyle gains emotional control.

Turn offs: Cruelty, carelessness, uncertainty.

Beliefs
1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does he fit type?

I truly have no idea.

2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in his life?

Kyle has a passing acquaintance with Christianity, but he doesn‘t really subscribe to it. He respects that Mercy does though.

3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it?

Kyle is manipulative and ruthless, but usually only towards those he thinks deserve his contempt. For instance, he sees no problem in utterly ruining a man who beats his wife, and he was very glad that Mercy killed her rapist. But his is loyal to those he cares about and will do whatever he can to protect them. I can see him compromising his ethics if it were the only way to do that.

4. How does he regard beliefs that differ from his? Is he tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent?

Kyle doesn’t care, really. You believe what you want, and he’ll believe what he wants, and it’s all good.

5. What prejudices does he hold? Are they irrational or does he have a good reason for them?

Kyle thinks vampires are largely scum of the earth. And in his canon, they are, really. But mostly he thinks it because one almost killed his boyfriend and Kyle holds grudges like you wouldn’t believe.

Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is he rich, poor, comfortable, in debt?

Kyle grew up rich, and through great career moves, remains rich. His house is huge and ridiculous and he has a pool. And a Jaguar. And he still spends most of his time at his boyfriend’s barn/bachelor pad.

Kyle’s status shifted from the son of rich people to a rich person in his own right. It wasn’t that big of a change.

3. Where does he live? House, apartment, trailer? Is his home his castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does he share it with others?

As mentioned, he has a large place in Richland but he spends most of his time with Warren at his place.

4. Besides the basic necessities, what does he spend his money on?

Clothes, mostly. And sometimes hot tubs and other luxury items.

5. What does he do for a living? Is he good at it? Does he enjoy it, or would he rather be doing something else?

Kyle loves being a lawyer. He’s good at it, and it gives him a thrill to win over a courtroom.

6. What are his interests or hobbies? How does he spend his free time?

Warren. Just being with him, watching movies with him and Mercy, jogging with him, lounging in the hot tub with him, lots of sex. Kyle likes being with Warren most of all.
