WTF?!??!??!?!?!?
So I go into work today, and my market manager and some random associate I've never seen before are in the kiosk. It's 9:40 so I'm not late so I'm thinking "No biggie, just training a new guy..." Turns out I'm one of 5 or 6 people the company has suspended *with* pay for 3-4 days for possible "excessive internet use"... WTF?! The owner/CEO of the company expressly mentioned the primary site I spend most of my time on as one we were allowed, if not encouraged to visit! So now I gotta wait for "Bob" to return my call placed shortly after I handed ove rmy key/tag. (probably not till Monday, being a "real" person he has weekends off.) to see when I can get my key and nametag back. Doug seemed to stress "You're not fired"... and I asked him if that means "I'm not fired now, but come Tuesday Bob gets to fire you" or "You're not fired, this is your warning to not do it again." He just repeated "You're not fired"... I said "Should I be job hunting?" and he said "You're not fired." Beats the hell out of me... If/when I go back I'm gonna start taking a book to read. I haven't done anything "wrong" on the internet, just spent too much time on it I guess... Oh well, I'll update as I get more info.
(I havent' recieved any written or verbal warnings about it, so I *highly* doubt I'll be fired.) I'm on these sites I go to to learn *MORE* about the products I'm selling. I'm at least trying to better myself on company time, not like I'm job hunting or playing yahoo games (Like the dude in the "Wireless World"(AT&T) booth seems to be doing whenever I walk past...
