Akira Ishida vs Tom Riddle
I never really liked "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" the movie, and I believe I gave it a 5 out of 10 at IMDb; so, why should I start to care now?? Perhaps not only because my favourite character in the story/movie is Tom Riddle, played by Christian Coulson, but also the fact that only yesterday I discovered that in the Japanese version of the movie Tom Riddle's voice actor was Akira Ishida!! *jaw drops*
Akira Ishida (石田彰)!! Lemme think where should I start... Okay, I gotta admit I didn't like Akira's voice acting at all when I 1st heard of him, cos the character he portrayed was this girlish young lad with voice much much sweeter than honey. *shudders* And then I learnt more about him and realise he's actually a wickedly cool voice actor, with reasons I find hard to put it clear in just just a few words. (To be honest, I feel rather ashamed to explain.) XD
And then I accidentally bumped into the above Youtube clip of his voice acting as Tom Riddle. Well, anyway, guess I finally see why he has received so much praise in Japan and elsewhere... He sounds just right for the part, and made Tom Riddle sound better than the orignal. He also did Jack in Japanese dubbed version of "Titanic", hmmm... He seems to have an amazingly flexible voice with a wide range.
All in all, I'm ready to get my hands on a Japanese DVD copy of HP2!! XD
