*headdesk* I nip out to grab some food and come back with eight books and a lampshade.

Ok the eight books I get, but did you need a lampshade? Really?

Well, yes, I kind of did.

Because my bedroom still has the boring, tiny beige lampshade that came with the flat. And this is a funky steel lampshade that just perfectly finishes off my bedroom decor.

DON'T JUDGE ME.

Well then that's ok. And me? Judge? Just the other day I bought a power rangers lampshade, it may have been for my nephew, but still...I bought it.

And no food?? I mean, getting books in addition to food is understandable, but instead of food not so much. (I'm generally dubious about the lampshade, but then half of my own lamps are still bare lightbulbs many many years after I moved into my place...)

The food was fripperies, not necessities.

Pffft. Who needs food when you can have BOOKS?

Not bad, but it doesn't beat my best. Which consisted of looking round some house-clearance shops in the hope of finding an old metal camera case I could use to carry microphones in, and coming back with a 22" colour televison.

Your power of persuasion is so strong that for a moment I was absolutely convinced that Roy is wearing a lampshade in your icon.

(Obligatory anecdote: I went out in my lunch hour to buy a yogurt and came back with a scanner/printer.)
