It's great! I've always been found of Sherlock Holmes, but I'd never seen a "modernisation" before.
This show is everything you'd expect from Steven Moffat - intricate plotting, interesting characters, attention to detail. I'm a little surprised at how well the parallels between Victorian London and the 21st Century version work - up to and including Watson being a soldier in Afghanistan. And I particularly like what they've done with Lestrade - he's competent policeman who respects Holmes, but he's out of his depth with the case and there's just enough tension between them to make it interesting.
So yeah, I love it and would heartily recommend it to anyone who isn't a hardcore purist (y'know, the kind who say that you can't change a single thing from the original without ruining it forever).

I haven't seen the new Sherlock, but I've seen happy noises around the Land of J... might check it out :-)
