[While she didn't feel particularly threatened by the letter Mayfield had sent out, Shiki saw it as as good a reason as any to actually do something in this boring town. She didn't really know who she was supposed to be killing, but she figured it would be a start at least to try looking for her.

... which happened to be all she needed to do. Upon seeing Meryl, she continues to walk towards her with a casual greeting.]

[Meryl glances over.]

[She scratches her head kind of awkwardly. It was hard to work up any killing intent when her target looked like a regular person, but... welp, gotta do something.]

Ah, sorry about this, but it seems I have to kill you. [Pulling out a knife as she speaks, yep she's ready.]

[derringerous]

[Wide eyes and backing up.]

What?!

You don't have to kill me!

[Probably not to be honest, but she was also curious about whether or not people really came back from the dead in this place. In any case though, she just charges in with her knife.]

[Meryl jumps out of the way, grabbing her gun as she does.]

You can't be serious! They just want you to do this!

[There is a gun aimed in your direction now.]

[She doesn't seemed bothered by it in the least.]

I have my own reasons, too.

Like what! What reasons could you have for trying to kill a complete stranger!

[Definitely NOT thinking about those pictures at the house. She keeps her gun squared on the woman, ready to fire if she moves.]

[Shiki, however, sees no further reason to explain herself. She charges in again, but she's fast, definitely someone who knows what she's doing--think you can keep up?]

[Meryl may not be the legendary gunman that Vash is, but she's well known for her accuracy. She aims a shot for the woman's shoulder.]

[It grazes her shoulder, but any pain she might have felt from it isn't visible. Upon reaching Meryl, she'll be aiming for a stab in her stomach.]

[Meryl avoids the first stab moving backwards, firing at close range, hoping to get her shoulder directly this time.]

[At this close range, it definitely hits, but the only noticeable reaction from getting shot is the narrowing of her eyes in a wince. She even steps forward, attempting to stab again.]

[And this time it's a direct hit. Meryl will gasp before aiming another shot at her other shoulder. Blood leaking from the wound.]

[Ahh this is why guns were a pain, she'd have to find a way to get the bullets out later... she stabs one last time before pulling her knife out and jumping away, putting some distance between them.]

[Meryl will manage one last shot before the gun drops from her hands and she clutches her now heavily bleeding wounds and slumps to the ground.]
