Life Update -3

Computers: First of all, I've became quite a pro in making CD images; hell with inserting disks for every game I own, I'll just make the computer think it's in there.
Of course, the problem is the Hard Disk I have...after my computer got formatted, I had to get a new hard disk, and unlike the old one's huge storage, I am supposed to work with a measly 75 Gigs, which is really infuriating once you consider the storage that was used once installing the basics--I had only 30 gigs to operate with, and that's horribly low for me. I'll mess around with what I can, and wait until Windows 7 is up so I'll do a full-scale upgrade--I have about 2k $, and I think that'll work quite nicely.

University: Second of all, I did plan B on KFUPM, the university I'm intending to study at, and things are going quite nicely. I'm gathering a lot
of transfer credit, and my "Excellent command of the English language" is really helping to get me a good name. I will be at KFUPM by the Spring, which is actually an accomplishment considering what I have been doing the last years (namely being a hopeless slob).

Mind: Third of all, I'm studying a lot of things that aren't actually academic, but anything that contributes to understanding my culture. I hope to be something of an informal scholar, and there are a lot of topics I'm covering on interpretations, cultures, politics and belief systems. It's a lot to learn, considering I'm really trying my best to learn all that is out there, so I'll be researching these topics in no particular order:
1- Shintoism, and more knowledge about Kami (I hope that's plural),
2- Sects of the Jewish faith,
3- More about the American Revolution,
4- and lastly, a more extensive understanding of governing systems such as Absolute Democracy, and the history of the Soviet Union.

Writing: Ok, here's a few things that might dampen the day:
1-To Inspiration and Beyond! fell out of favor, since keeping up a plot with a constant dose of comedy that doesn't eat itself over like Transformers 2 is quite tedious, although I'm trying to balance between writing tips and comedy, I'm thinking that dropping the project would be better.
2-Retribution is at Hand is going a bit slow, mostly because I'm trying to avoid shared plot lines between it and Harry Potter, which is (as I realized) a lot more difficult than I knew, since (as I just remembered) Dalaran is a school of magic, and while I'm desperately trying to increase the Scourge's threat level (since in-game they're pathetic), I don't want to repeat the Siege of Hogwarts with Dalaran--which might be vastly different, considering the characters, but the effort remains..
3- Most other writing topics are falling out of favor, except for Anorian Legends, which is taking its first steps between a strange mix of A Game of Thrones and something written by Richard Knaak...
4- I'm still reading a few projects:
A- A Game of Thrones, which I'm quarter way through, and despite the engaging (or so I feel it is engaging), I'm slowly slipping away.
B- Re-reading Chronicles of Prydain --again--. I feel I've done very little focusing and analysis in the first reading, mostly because the damn Disney movie really screwed it up for me.
C- Trying (genuinely trying) to read Sword of Truth, but I just...feel cheesy. Grr...

Those are the highlights for now. Until next time!
